Ceetrus donates hospital beds

Hungary
21 December 2020

Ceetrus Hungary Kft. has already provided a total of one million HUF in support to the Children’s Heart Center of György Gottsegen National Institute of Cardiology.

Social responsibility is an important part of Ceetrus’ corporate strategy. The company places great emphasis on advocating for important issues affecting our society and integrating communal and ecological aspects into its corporate operations. Therefore, this year Ceetrus Hungary Kft. provides support in the form of monetary or in-kind donations to various foundations and institutes, including the György Gottsegen National Institute of Cardiology Children’s Heart Center.

The György Gottsegen National Institute of Cardiology is one of the most outstanding heart hospitals in the country. Its task is the complex cardiovascular examination and therapy of the full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases in the pediatric and adult populations. The institute plays a key role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and the monitoring of cardiological disease, and serves an average of 9,000 inpatients and 90,500 outpatients annually.

It was important for the staff of Ceetrus Hungary Kft. to donate something that is really needed by the hospital, so they contacted Beatrix Vincze, Deputy Director of Nursing at GOKI, who is also the chief nurse of the Children’s Heart Center. They learned that hospital beds would be most needed, as a hospital environment with a higher comfort factor also supports the patients’ recovery.  Ceetrus employees visited specialist retailers and bought beds for children worth a total of HUF 500,000. In addition, staff also sent plush toys to make the hospital ward more child-friendly. This is not the first time Ceetrus provided support to the hospital, last year an ECG machine worth HUF 560,000 was purchased for the Children’s Heart Center.

The donation was handed over by Dóra Diána Szemerédi, CSR and Internal Communications Manager and Gergely Fonay, Marketing Team Leader on behalf of Ceetrus Hungary Kft.

Dóra Diána Szemerédi commented the following in connection with the donation: “Social responsibility plays an important role in our sustainable corporate strategy, within the framework of which we want to support groups facing difficulties on several levels. GOKI, which deals with the treatment of children with heart disease, is one of the most important heart hospitals in the country. Supporting their life-saving and quality-of-life improvement work is fully in line with the values represented by Ceetrus. We are very pleased to be able to support the operations of the Children’s Heart Hospital, help with the work going on there and contribute to better care for the children who are there.”
