Le Garage, a unique design container restaurant has won Commercial Development and Investment Journal’s HOF (Hall of Fame) Awards 2020 in the BEST OF BEST CEE / SEE HOTEL & LEISURE DEVELOPMENT category.

In the international final held for the fifth time this year, the previously selected best real estate market projects of Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia competed with each other in 36 categories. Le Garage container restaurant earned its participation in the prestigious competition by being the best in the F&B Development category at the 2019 CIJ Awards.

The Commercial Development and Investment Journal (CIJ) first announced its international professional awards in 2001, and the prizes have been handed out in Hungary since 2006. In recent years, CIJ Awards have become one of the most prestigious professional awards in the Central Eastern and Southeast European region. In the „BEST OF BEST” award category national winners compete with each other. Winners are selected jointly by an international jury of leading real estate market players and CIJ readers. This year, the awards were presented during a multi-day online professional forum due to the pandemic.

According to Balázs Gábosy, Director of Operations at Ceetrus Hungary Kft., Le Garage stood out from the competition with its innovative gastro concept. Le Garage namely unites a design container restaurant and weekly changing food trucks offering a new selection of food and drinks every week.

“We wanted a place where the diversity of food trucks can be enjoyed all year round. Where you can choose from the street food selection of various food trucks even when it’s snowing outside. We imagined an indoor street food hall where various trucks offering a great selection of food park in and out all year round, like in a garage. This became the Le Garage „Eat & Meet”, an innovative street food hall concept created in cooperation with Food Truck Show Kft. The forerunner of this is Le Garage 1.0 in Graphisoft Park” – said the

Director of Operations.

The design container restaurant operated by CEETRUS Hungary Kft.  is also an innovator from an environmental point of view, as it is completely plastic-free: the tableware is made of wood, the packaging is made of cardboard, and the glasses are made of decomposing PLA, which are collected selectively on site.

The CIJ Awards and HOF Awards are not the first recognitions for Le Garage restaurant. In 2019, it won a prize at the Gastro & Hotel Design Awards, one of the most special competitions among Hungarian hotels and restaurants, and became GastroDesign Restaurant of the Year, and in the same year, it also won the CRE Awards Retail Project of the Year 2019.

Due to the pandemic, the Le Garage container restaurant is currently closed. The reopening is scheduled for September 2020. Ceetrus Hungary Kft. plans to open Le Garage 2.0 in 2023.
